Pool Facilities

We are incredibly lucky to work together with the fabulous Lake District Calvert Trust, near Keswick, Cumbria. On a Wednesday morning we have sole access to their amazing water centre.

The Pool is a fully accessible 12x6m multi-sensory hydrotherapy pool. It is kept nice and warm at 32-33°C, allowing us to benefit from this therapeutic temperature. You can read more about this in the above tab on the benefits of Aquatic Therapy.

A 6x6 meter portion of the pool floor is fully height adjustable. Throughout sessions this is used to adapt the pool depth to each individual, for optimum therapeutic effect.

We have the benefits of a state of cutting edge underwater treadmill.

The pool and changing facilities have a wide range of options, meaning we can help most disabilities enjoy the water.

Fully accessible changing rooms
There are a variety of fully accessible changing rooms and toilet facilities. Rooms are fitted with grab rails, fixed shower chairs, level access showers and shower trolleys. We can help you find the facilities which best suit you.
Pool access via stairs
The pool has access via gradual, wide stairs, with a hand rail on each side. Our therapists can assess you on these and assist if needed.

Pool access by dipper chair
There is a dipper hoist chair for use with suitable individuals. Our staff are all fully trained and are happy to assess individuals.
Pool access via tracking hoist
There is a tracking hoist running directly from a changing room into the pool. Our staff will assess individuals for suitability for this equipment.

Vari height pool floor
A 6x6 meter portion of the pool floor is fully adjustable in height. Our team can utilise this to allow level access into the pool. It is also used throughout the sessions to adapt the pool depth to each individual, for optimum therapeutic effect.
Under Water Treadmill
We have use of a cutting edge underwater treadmill. Click here for more details.
