A Bit About Me
I am passionate about the role of physiotherapy in the care and rehabilitation of people with neurological conditions. Being able to work with clients to help them achieve their goals and maximise their physical independence is an infinitely rewarding role that I love.
I qualified as a Physiotherapist over 20 years ago, and worked for the first 10 years of my career in North Bristol NHS Trust. It was during this time that I gained several years’ experience working in specialist neurological services including brain injury rehabilitation, neurosurgery, stroke rehabilitation, neurology and paediatric neurological and neurosurgical services. For many of our clients this also included rehabilitation from significant orthopaedic injuries and burns alongside respiratory management needs due to the multi trauma nature of many of our clients.
Whilst working at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit and using Aquatic Therapy several times a week, I completed the ATACP Foundations of Aquatic Therapy course. After moving to Cumbria in 2013 and having some time away from the opportunity to use aquatic physiotherapy, I was excited to get back in the pool with clients at the Calvert Trust. Establishing Ripple Effect Physiotherapy and continuing to offer specialist aquatic physiotherapy to clients in the local area with neurological conditions is something that I am very proud and excited to be able to do.

Away from my professional life, I live an active outdoor lifestyle with my husband and three children. I participate regularly in triathlon, trail running and open water swimming events as well as enjoying lots of other activities like skiing, paddleboarding, surfing and tennis with my family. I personally benefit from exercise and activity both in and on the water for physical and mental wellbeing and am excited to be able to share that opportunity with our clients.
